The Bloggers Meet up recently held at Secrets Resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica was a tremendous success. The hotel started back in April 2010 and with the inaugural Bloggers Meet Up the hotel has benefited significantly with bloggers particularly travel writers and travel bloggers in the US talking and spreading the known secrets about the hotel. The final day on the trip was bitter sweet. After spending four days I took a well needed plunge in the hydrotherapy pool which was very relaxing and powerful. I thought the blog post The case for Secrets Resorts, Montego Bay, Jamaica would have been my last post, but I found some new material that I wanted to share.

Our final night was spent together. Before dinner we had a lesson with a representative from Appleton Rum who gave us a lecture/lesson on the Appleton brand. The session went very well. At the end, three bloggers got the chance to mix alcoholic beverages for the group in a competition. The blogging group selected the winners which was a fun experience sipping all the mixed drinks.

The scenery at Secrets Resorts was spectacular. Nothing I’ve seen could be compared to it. The view could rival any edited photo in a luxury magazine; seeing it live made everyone flabbergasted. I hope my camera captured it well.

The life of the party

Before posting this I was linked to the Flickr page for the Bloggers Meet Up and saw some new shots which I totally adore. Check em out.

Photo from the Beaches Hotel in Negril

Our dinner on the beach was memorable; hearing the waves on the shore was peaceful. The conversations near me centered around boarding school, technology and marketing. It was a fun night, I particularly enjoyed the company, the food (couldn’t have the lobster but the beef was great); the dessert was amazing. I just tasted the chocolate in my mouth :)

This was crazy, lots of fun though.

I may have done this over 6 times. I started swimming last year and doing this was very brave of me. It is not my thing to be the crazy ‘jump in the water’ swimming but I thought I would really regret not doing it. I am so happy I did. If you are ever in Negril and have the opportunity to boat on the catamaran, you definitely have to slide through landing in the blue Caribbean Sea. If you muster up more courage then jumping off Rick’s Cafe could be your adventure.

Get ready to be soaked even before making your way on the catamaran.

This was an insightful tour of the Rose Hall Great House. You can check out my video tour here. The tour is full of entertainment and history.

On the dance floor.

Dancing was fun, I really enjoyed this. My dance partner here was Karin. You may check out her blog here.

I like this photo.

I am a fan of the Canon EOS 7D, it is my favorite camera of all time; and it is rated one of the best in its category. You can imagine my shock when the blogger next to me has one. Not only that, she is showing me some photos she took of Usain Bolt days before in Paris. She works with Puma by the way –  don’t we all want to? :)

The camera is very heavy. I was supporting it with my huge hands since my life is worth one anyway. :) If you want to make my day, buy me this camera. Its the Canon EOS 7D – I’m just putting it out there. You may never know who reads this blog post. Moving on, I thought the camera takes amazing shots and has lots of features –  definitely a must have.

WOW, OMG, #epic Words to describe Chukka Caribbean Adventures. I am impressed with their facility and the dog sled ride was icing on the cake for me. You don’t get to enjoy these attractions often but I can tell of it daily. This is a must-do activity if you are ever in Montego Bay or Ocho Rios.

What impressed me about Chukka Caribbean Adventures is their care for the animals – horses and dogs. They are kept in the best environment, immaculately clean and well fed. Certainly no fault with this attraction.
