Temple Fair 2012 – Jamaica Temple

I attended the Temple Fair 2012 event by the University of West Indies, Mona Campus on the weekend. It was a good event for me, as elements from the Chinese culture were on show. Enjoy the videos I recorded on Saturday. First, the dragon dance and the second video showcases Norma Harrack, Jamaican artist, potter and lecturer. Such an incredible woman. She is chartering new paths for herself internationally. Hopefully, I can share her success and words on this blog. The few minutes I spent with her I could tell, her story would be inspiring to hear. Of course, the fair had food, books, and artisans on show.

Riverton on Fire (Photos)

On the way back from Lime Cay, one could not ignore the big smoke hovering over our city. Riverton, the landfill is still burning and while we may be inconvenienced by the smoke on our communities; the impact on the environment may never come to light.

I’ve been MUGGED!!

I must say how surprised I was to have received a Google Plus alert saying Bearman Cartoons had created a caricature of me. Do you think it looks like me?

I just had a hearty laugh after seeing this.

Look at the looooong neck and the nerdy glasses.

Click here to get your photo from Bearman. Oh btw – I’ve been following his blog for years and he’s one of  my inspirations for blogging.

Engadget Awards – Digital Camera of 2011

Engadget - a technology website is hosting its Engadget 2011 Awards. I love photography, not that I am an expert or own a good camera. The Digital Camera of 2011 in the Engadget Awards has me snapping over these finalists.

Cameras are very important to bloggers and investing in one is a priority for most. My favourite among this list is the Nikon D5100 and the Sony cameras, especially the Sony NEX-5N
